FNAF: Animatronic Purge
Because it's not a shooting game at all! Not really. I mean, your character *has* something that looks like a gun, but it's more like a multi-tool. The first time I played, I spent like twenty minutes trying to shoot Freddy in the "Backstage Repair" area, thinking I was doing it wrong because he just kept laughing and walking past me. Turns out, your "gun" is actually a *scanner* that shows their weak points, or it can emit a sonic pulse to distract them, or even temporarily overload a circuit. It’s wild.
It's more like a super intense, creepy puzzle game where the animatronics are the *puzzle* themselves. Like, on the "Arcade Alley" level, I was stuck trying to get past Bonnie. I kept trying to use the sonic pulse, but he just ignored it. Then I noticed the old arcade cabinets had these exposed power conduits. Your "gun" can actually *redirect* power! You gotta charge up specific machines to create a distraction or open a door, but if you charge the wrong one, it just makes Bonnie faster. It's so clever!
And the "endless corridors"? They're not endless. They're like, a really complex, shifting maze that you have to figure out while Foxy is hunting you. You're not just running, your looking for hidden vents, or pressure plates that only activate when an animatronic steps on them. I actually jumped so hard when I finally figured out how to get past that stupid Balloon Boy on the "Prize Counter" stage. It wasn't about shooting him, it was about timing your flashlight *flicker* to make him retreat into the shadows long enough to sneak past. Genius!
Honestly, it's not what I expected at all. I thought it would be just another run-and-gun, but it's so much more. It makes you feel like you're actually outsmarting these things, not just blasting them. I looked at the clock and it was 2 AM last night, I was supposed to be asleep hours ago. Seriously, you gotta try it. It’s fun. Really, really fun. I already told Sarah she HAS to play it this weekend.
