Squid Game: Red Light Dash
Remember that description someone sent us? About "Talalelo, the legendary shark hero's mischievous twin" and "Ballerina Cappucina with a cappuccino cup for a head"? Dude, that was so wrong it's hilarious. Like, completely misses the point. It's like describing a rollercoaster as "a metal track with seats that move fast." Technically true, but your missing the screaming, the drops, the feeling in your stomach!
Honestly, this game is *so* much more than just "Red Light Green Light with crazy surprises." Like, yeah, there are surprises, but it's the *tension*. The first time I played, I thought it would be easy. I just dashed forward, right? Nope. The doll, "Dollface" I call her, she's not just looking straight. Sometimes her head whips around super fast, or her eyes glow red and scan the ground. I swear, one time I saw her *flicker* for a second and then she was looking in a totally different direction than she was a moment ago. I got caught, like, three times in the first five minutes. It was so frustrating but I couldn't stop.
The sound design too, it's really good. Not just the doll's creepy voice, but the little *thump-thump* of your own feet when you're running, and then the sudden, dead silence when you have to freeze. It makes you feel like your really there, trying not to breathe too loud. I figured out that if you wait for the *second* "Green Light" announcement, you get a tiny bit more time, but it's super risky because the red light comes on faster after that. It's like a weird gamble every time.
I ended up playing for like, three hours straight without even realizing it. Looked at the clock and it was almost 2 AM. I usually hate these super tense games, but this one just pulls you in. It's not about being the fastest, it's about being the smartest and having crazy good timing. I already told my cousin Liam he needs to get it. Seriously, you gotta try it. It's fun. Really, really fun. And kinda terrifying.
