Dude, you will NOT believe this game. Mythic Monster Brawl? Remember that weird description someone gave us? 'Summon soldiers, fight evil enemies, suitable for boys who love adventure!' Like, seriously? That's like describing a gourmet burger as 'meat on bread.' Technically true, but completely misses the point.
I just finished playing it, like, for hours, and I can’t sleep now because my brain is still buzzing. When I first started, I thought it was gonna be just another click-and-fight thing, right? I threw my little Glimmer-sprites out there and they just got absolutely wrecked by these big, shadowy Gloom-Hounds. I was like, okay, this is kinda dumb. But then I tried again, and I noticed the Gloom-Hounds bark really loud before they charge, and that stuns your units. So I tried putting my Stone-golems *first* to take the bark, then my Spark-mages *behind* them, and suddenly, boom, they actually won!
It's not about just summoning stuff, it's like a weird, super intense puzzle game but with monsters. You have to figure out the exact right time and place to drop your units. Like, there’s this one level with these annoying Shrieker-bats that fly over everything, and I kept losing until I realized I could use my Echo-knights, who usually just run forward, to actually *block* the bats if I timed it perfectly right as they swooped. It was so satisfying when it worked, like a little mental high five.
Honestly, I’m not usually into these strategic games, I usually just button mash, but this one just clicked. The sound design is really good too, like when your big Frost-beast slams down, there's this deep *thunk* that just feels powerful. I looked up and it was almost 2 AM. Your boy has work tomorrow.
I even told Sarah from work about it today, because she loves those brainy puzzle games. I think she’d really get into how it works.
