Pop Blast Frenzy
OMG dude I cannot sleep. It's like, 11 PM and my brain is still buzzing from Pop Blast Frenzy. You know, that game I downloaded because Sarah told me about it?
So, the description for it was like, "Get ready for a new kind of brick shooter! Clear all the blocks using a limited number balls. Plan your moves, use the score combo system, and try to get 3 stars!" And honestly, that's like describing pizza as "bread with toppings." Like, yeah, technically true, but it misses the entire point of why pizza is amazing. This game is NOT just a brick shooter.
It's more like... a really smart puzzle game that *looks* like a brick shooter. The first time I played it, I was like, "Okay, whatever, just hit the blocks." But then I hit this one block, and it like, turned into a little bomb and cleared a whole row, and then *that* triggered another block that changed all the blue ones to green. And the whole screen just went *WHOOSH* with colors and sounds. It wasn't just clearing blocks, it was like setting off this amazing chain reaction. The little "pop" sound when you clear a big group is so, so satisfying. I swear I played for like, two hours straight and didn't even notice. I looked at the clock and was like, "Wait, what?"
Your not just trying to hit stuff, your trying to *set up* these crazy combos. Like, I figured out if you bounce the ball just right off a wall, you can hit this "Rainbow Block" and it clears all blocks of one color, which is super useful for getting to other tricky blocks. It's like, you have to think three steps ahead. It's not fast, it's really thoughtful.
I'm not usually into these kind of games, but this one just clicked. I even caught myself thinking about how to clear level 17 while I was making dinner tonight, which is weird. I already told my brother Mark he has to try it. It’s just so clever and makes your brain work in a really fun way. Seriously, you gotta download it. It's good. Really, really good.
