Tap Beat Dash

OMG dude I cannot sleep. It's like 11 PM but my brain is still going a million miles an hour thinking about Tap Beat Dash. Remember when Sarah told me about it? She was like, "Oh it's a rhythm-based action platformer, you jump and fly through danger." And I was like, "Okay, cool, sounds like every other game."

But honestly, that description is so wrong it's almost funny. It's like describing pizza as "bread with toppings." Like, yeah, technically true, but it misses *everything* that makes pizza pizza, you know?

I started playing it earlier, just to kill some time, and I swear I looked up and it was like, two hours later. I didn't even realize! The first level, "Neon Groove," it starts off kinda chill, just getting you used to the little square dude jumping. But then the music kicks in, and it's not just background noise. It's like, the *game* becomes the music. Every jump, every dash, every little flip, it all syncs up. There's this one part in "Spike Ascent" where you have to time your jumps perfectly with this fast drum beat, and when you get it right, it feels like your flying. It's not just "jumping through danger," it's like you *are* the beat.

And I usually HATE games that are super hard, but this one... I don't know, it's different. Like, I died a million times on "Gravity Shift Gully," especially that part where the screen flips and you have to suddenly go up instead of down. It was so frustrating but I just kept hitting retry. Because when you finally nail it, when you get that perfect run through a tricky section, it's just so satisfying. There's this little "ding!" sound when you hit a perfect beat and it just makes your brain happy.

I even figured out a trick on the "Laser Labyrinth" level. If you tap *just* before the main bass drop, your little square dude gets this tiny extra boost and it helps clear a really wide gap that always got me before. It's like, really clever how they did that. I already told Mark from work he has to play it. Your gonna love it. It’s just… it’s really good. Really, really good.
