Cosmic Rush
Remember how that guy described it? "Blast off into space, hit a speeding space car, jump, take out enemy spacecraft, rack up points." Honestly, that description is so wrong it's almost funny. It's like describing a rollercoaster as "a metal track that goes up and down." Technically true, but completely misses the point.
Cosmic Rush isn't about shooting stuff. Like, at all. I thought it was gonna be some basic space shooter, you know? But when I first started, I kept trying to blast these "Stardust Drifters" – those are the "space cars" they talked about – and I just kept crashing. Turns out, your ship doesn't even *have* weapons. What you do is, you *phase through* them. Like, your ship becomes all glowy and transparent for a second and you just zoom right through. And if you chain a few of those together, you get this insane speed boost and the screen just *shimmers* and it makes this little *ding* sound that's so satisfying.
It's more like a rhythm game meets parkour, but in space. You're not "saving the day," your just trying to navigate these crazy asteroid fields and solar flares, dodging these giant "Void Whales" that drift by, and chaining these "Phase Jumps" and "Echo Dashes" to keep your momentum going. I figured out if you time an Echo Dash right after phasing through a Drifter, you can basically become invincible for a few seconds and just *fly* through a whole section. That's when it clicked for me, like, oh my god, this is actually really clever.
I'm not usually into these kind of high-score chase games, but this one is different. It's so fluid. I looked up and thought it was like, 9:30, and it was almost 1 AM. I already told Leo about it. He's gonna love it. It's free too, which is wild for how good it feels. You gotta try it, man. It's so much fun.
